Parenting Through Connection

Parenting a child impacted by trauma, adoption, or intense emotional sensitivity can feel overwhelming. The behaviors are big. The reactions are fast. And traditional strategies often don’t work the way they’re supposed to.

You are not alone in this.

Behavior is Protective

When children experience trauma or toxic stress, their brains learn to prioritize survival. What looks like defiance, control, aggression, or withdrawal is often an adaptive response from a nervous system trying to stay safe. When we shift from managing behaviors to understanding it, everything changes.

In our work together, you will:

  • Learn how trauma shapes the developing brain

  • Learn how attachment impacts the brain (especially for early developmental trauma)

  • Understand your child’s nervous system patterns

  • Build regulation skills — for both your child and yourself

  • Respond in ways that strengthen attachment

  • Develop a framework that lasts beyond quick strategies

This is not about scripts or behavior charts.
It’s about helping you understand what is happening beneath the surface — so you can respond with clarity and confidence.

Workshop: Looking Beyond Behaviors

Looking Beyond Behaviors is a 6-week virtual workshop for parents who want to better understand the “why” behind their child’s big feelings and behaviors. Instead of focusing on discipline or punishment, this workshop centers on connection, felt-safety, and nervous system regulation.

Grounded in relational neuroscience, attachment theory, and trauma-informed parenting, you’ll learn how your child’s developing brain shapes their reactions. You’ll gain practical insight into how the brain and nervous system work, along with effective strategies you can use right away.

This is a supportive, non-judgmental space where curiosity replaces blame and connection replaces control. By the end of six weeks, you’ll see behavior through a new lens — as communication — and feel more confident responding in ways that build resilience, trust, and lasting connection within your family.
